La cantante Silvia Iriondo, es reconocida como una de las más destacadas intérpretes del cancionero popular argentino y latinoamericano.

Su más reciente trabajo Pasionarias reúne la obra de cuatro mujeres americanas de habla hispana desde donde se puede conocer el corazón de América Latina: Violeta Parra por Chile, Chabuca Granda por Perú, Leda Valladares por Argentina y Frida Kahlo, México.

Pasionarias contienes temas como: He sembrado una pasión, La canastita y Quien ama y sufre, de Leda Valladares; La lavandera, La jardinera y Arriba quemando el sol, de Violeta Parra; Canterurías, Ese arar en el mar y Me he de guardar, de Chabuca Granda; y El pala pala (anónimo argentino). La edición en formato CD es un cuidado objeto de arte que incluye, entre otros, ilustraciones de Frida Kahlo, frases, fotografías e información biográfica sobre las autoras.

Iriondo lo presenta en formato dúo junto al pianista Pablo Fraguela, o con su cuarteto.
